Music and Character
Mr. Stametz is a native of New York where he studied at the Juilliard and Manhattan schools of music. At the Denver Center Theatre Company he has served as the music director and composer on shows including John Brown's Body, Life is a Dream, Galileo, The Imaginary Invalid, The Skin of Our Teeth, Kingdom, Treasure Island, Peter Pan, Forever Plaid, Much Ado About Nothing, A Christmas Carol and Inna Beginning, a world premiere play he co-created and composed. At the Cleveland Play House, he composed the music for A Dream Play as well as being Music Director/Conductor for Dirty Blonde, Company, Eliot Ness...In Cleveland and Sideshow. He has also served as music director or composer at the Intiman Theater, California Shakespeare Festival, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, PCPA Theaterfest, Arizona State University, Miami University, University of Denver, University of Colorado and the National Theatre Conservatory where he served on the faculty. Mr. Stametz was Associate Conductor for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas national tour with Ann Margret. In addition to the theater, composing credits include PBS documentaries, cable documentaries and feature film.
